Good article. Two comments.

(1) what is the meaning of "democratized, unmanned systems"?

(2) I think there was significant foreign involvement in blowing the bridge involving a civilian commercial vessel that went to the sea of Azov and then released either the drone or a remote explosive. Best guess is Turkey. Your thoughts? (The attack appears to have come from the North and not from the South, that is Black Sea.

Thanks Stephen! Very interesting hypothesis and certainly possible that the USVs were launched from a larger vessel. I'd be a bit surprised if Turkey were overt in supporting Ukraine with staging for a strike, but it's not out of the question. I would think that they're playing both sides as much as possible to increase their relative position in Eurasian affairs. Still, it's feasible!

By democratized, unmanned systems, I'm referencing the inexpensive, mass-produced drones (think FPV racing drones that have been equipped with a grenade) as opposed to the larger, far more expensive, yet more technologically advanced systems (e.g., Reaper or TB2).

Thank you. There is another rumor that the Ukrainians used a British drone called Remus. I don't know if it has enough explosives for the job, and there is no hard proof yet.
